Anne Frank in the World
Anne Frank, the Jewish girl whose diary became a symbol of so much lost in the holocaust, would have been 80 years old on June 12th.
Her diary, published after her death in 1945, documents her experiences hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, has been translated into 67 languages and has become one of the most widely read books in the world. Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945, a travelling exhibit chronicling the life and wartime experiences of Anne Frank is now on display free of charge at the Old Courthouse in Decatur. We were recently given a tour by Sandra Craine, a coordinator with the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust. The tour started with a quote from the Rev. Martin Niem?ller, a Lutheran pastor who spent eight years imprisoned by the Nazis?
