Atlanta Haitian Americans On Relief Efforts
By Rose Scott
Atlanta, GA – Many Atlantans continue to wait word on their family members and if they are being reached by relief efforts.
WABE's Rose Scott has the report:
Franz-Che Delva tries to divide time running her West End natural hair boutique and eyeing news reports on television.
She has family and a family owned business in Haiti:
"still waiting, still waiting on some that we've heard from, just a lot of devastation the hotel is gone, the family hotel is gone, and several have died and are hurt but still waiting"
Delva says she's grateful for all the relief efforts but at times wishes the process could go faster:
"50/50 my mom says one thing and I hear one thing, it's hard, I feel there's a lot of mistrust in that we just need to trust and do the right thing and I pray that happens"
Delva says she collecting items to ship with rescue efforts.
