Black agenda memo authors go public.

Atlanta, GA – An analysis of the mayor's race in Atlanta sparked controversy and intrigue last week. This weekend, the memo's authors went public.

William Boone and Keith Jennings are political science professors at Clark Atlanta University.

A few weeks ago, they analyzed the mayor's race for the Atlanta Black Leadership Forum. Their analysis is the infamous memo which was leaked to the media.

In an email sent exclusively to WABE Saturday, Boone and Jennings wrote mayoral candidates should address the interests of all voters including African-Americans.
They also describe news coverage of their analysis as incendiary and misleading.

Many view the memo as an endorsement of Lisa Borders as the best way to keep Mayor's office in black hands. However, Boone and Jennings say they did not write their analysis for any candidate. They also say they're not working for and have not contributed to any candidate.

Boone and Jennings say they also told the Black Leadership Forum African-American voters should critically evaluate all candidates because blacks cannot afford to only judge a candidate by skin color.
