Atlanta, GA – This weekend, Robert Spano conducts the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Chorus in concert at Carnegie Hall. Later this month, he'll conduct the ASO in a debut performance of Wynton Marsalis's "American Symphony." It was in September, eight years ago that Robert Spano began his tenure as ASO music director, and in conversation with WABE's Lois Reitzes, he reflected on an unforeseen aspect of that moment in his career.
