This Day in Atlanta History: Every House Must Maintain a Gun

Atlanta, GA – If we were to turn Georgia's clock back 27 years, to this date in 1982, we'd find the national spotlight focused on the tiny Cobb County community of Kennesaw. The city fathers had just enacted an ordinance mandating that every household maintain a gun. The inspiration for the unusual law was prompted by two headline events, according to Georgia State University historian Cliff Kuhn:
