Federal Report Reveals Hospital Emerency Room Danger
By Denis O'Hayer
Atlanta, GA – America's hospital emergency rooms remain crowded and it's getting worse.
That, from a new Federal report prepared for a Senate committee. The report said many E-R backups come from patients who've already been admitted but are kept in E-R beds, until regular rooms open up. WABE's Denis O'Hayer spoke with Emory Emergency Medicine professor Doctor Arthur Kellerman. He said the most alarming statistic in the report shows E-R wait times for critically ill patients are getting longer.
