Jury deadlocked in no-knock warrant

Atlanta, GA – Tuesday, jury deliberations continue in the trial of Atlanta police officer Arthur Tesler.

Tesler faces three charges related to the death of 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston.

Court ended Monday afternoon after the judge granted the jury's request for a transcript of Tesler's entire testimony. The officer took the stand in his own defense for several hours last week.

It's unclear what part of the testimony the jury wants to see. On the stand, Tesler answered questions about his actions before his partner obtained a no-knock warrant to search Johnston's home for drugs.

Tesler also discussed his role in executing the warrant and his statements to federal investigators afterwards.

Earlier in the day, the jury told the judge they were deadlocked but he ordered to return and continue their deliberations.

Tesler is accused of violating his oath of office, making false statements and false imprisonment.

The violation and statement charges each carry a maximum 5 year sentence. False imprisonment has a max of 10 years.
