Matthew Maguire's Wax Wings
Emory's Evolving Arts New Works Festival Continues
By Wanda Yang Temko
Atlanta, GA – Every two years, the Playwriting Center of Theater Emory produces Brave New Works, a festival of new play readings and exploratory workshops. This year's festival was inspired by Emory's symposium, Evolution Revolution: Science Changing Life, which took place last October. Wax Wings gives us a glimpse into the lives of two sets of scientists, each struggling with their work and life relationships. Wanda Yang Temko dropped by their first rehearsal and spoke with the playwright, Matthew Maguire, and director, Megan Monaghan.
