Nichols found guilty

Atlanta, GA – Brian Nichols has been found "guilty" on all 54 counts of the indictment against him.
After 12 hours of deliberation, the jury in the case announced their verdict this afternoon.
The verdict form was read by Judge James Bodiford
The jury was composed of 6 black females, 2 white females, 2 black males, 1 white male, and one asian male.
In finding Nichols guilty, the jurors rejected the defense's argument that Nichols was insane when he killed four people in a shooting rampage that began at Fulton County's Courthouse on March 11, 2005.
The case now enters the penalty phase the jurors will hear statements read by victims and those close to them about how Nichols's actions affected them.
Nichols could be given life in prison, life without parole, or death.
