Possible plea deal for Mike Vick

Atlanta, GA – According to published reports, lawyers for Michael Vick and federal prosecutors are talking about a plea deal for the Atlanta Falcons' star quarterback.

Word of the plea talks first surfaced on the Atlanta Journal Constitution's website.

Vick's lawyers have not confirmed the report, but criminal defense attorney Page Pate of Atlanta says Vick should strongly consider a plea because by Friday all 3 of Vick's co-defendants may have entered guilty pleas against him.

PATE: In federal court, whenever a co-defendant enters a plea, it's a 99 percent chance they're going to be cooperating against whoever is left in the case.

One co-defendant has already pleaded guilty and the remaining two have scheduled plea hearings for later this week.

Meanwhile, the National Football League is investigating whether Vick has violated league policies. The NFL's Commissioner has suspended Vick with pay until the end of the investigation and could take further action.
