Swine Flu Deters Travel Plans
By Charles Edwards
Atlanta, GA – All Points Travel consultant Carl Howard got a lot of calls yesterday.
HOWARD: "The phone didn't stop ringing."
One came from a man who booked a honeymoon trip to Cancun. The couple leaves this weekend.
HOWARD: " and the gentleman called me yesterday and asked me what we were hearing about recommendations and possibilities for changes."
Howard and other travel agents recommend people listen to the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.
As for changes, hotels and airlines are either waving or reimbursing change fees. So, if you want to move your Mexico trip from now to say June or July, you can without paying a fee.
But if you change your trip, you might still pay more. Flights and hotels cost more in the summer and you will likely have to pay the difference.
