Vick's Co-defendents Consider Plea Deal

ATLANTA – Michael Vick's two remaining co-defendants in a federal dog fighting case appear ready to enter plea agreements.
But attorneys of the Atlanta quarterback say that will NOT change Vick's legal plan.

Thirty-five-year-old Purnell Peace and 28-year-old Quanis Phillips have scheduled plea hearings in federal court in Richmond, Virginia, on Thursday and Friday.
Another of Vick's original co-defendants, Tony Taylor, pleaded guilty late last month to taking part in a dogfighting conspiracy that he says was financed by Vick.
As part of a plea agreement, Taylor pledged to fully cooperate with the government in its prosecution of Vick, Peace and Phillips.
Vick's lawyers believe that the news of the two remaining co-defendants considering plea deals means they have also agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.
All four men are accused of running an interstate dogfighting enterprise known as ``Bad Newz Kennels'' on Vick's property in rural Virginia.
