Voters rights group offers election day assistance

Atlanta, GA – Whether you're early voting this week or waiting until Super Tuesday, a voters rights advocacy group today offered help in case of problems at the polling place.

At a news conference, Election Protection offered a toll free hotline to voters with questions. 1-866-OUR-VOTE is the number to reach trained election workers and election lawyers.

The group's community advocate, Gloria Butler, expects Election Protection's phones to ring non-stop this year.

BUTLER: Because I think there's going to be a record turnout. I think young people are so enthused and they tend to be our 1st time voters. They may not know some others rights that they may have.

For example, Butler says voters can obtain a sample ballot before voting and can bring it with them when they vote. She also says voters 75 years and older can move to the front of the line between
9:30 and 4:30 on Election Day.
