Copenhagen Explores the Physics of Memory

(l to r) Stuart Schleuse, Lorilyn Harper & Curtis Krick in Academy Theater's production of Copenhagen

In 1941, in the thick of World War Two, two of the world’s top physicists met in Copenhagen; One German, One Danish. The details of their meeting have never been revealed and the two never spoke to each other again.

That’s the central conceit behind Michael Frayn’s play, Copenhagen, onstage now at the Academy Theater. WABE's Myke Johns spoke with the cast and director and has this story.

Copenhagen runs through May 20th. You can find more info here.

Door to a Past Both Opulent and Short-Lived

Every first-class passenger boarded the Titanic though the D-Deck door. The door was also opened the night of April 14th in an aborted plan to evacuate. It was still open when it was discovered on the ocean floor in 1993.

An exhibit at Atlantic Station showcases artifacts from the Titanic, 100 years after the supposedly-unsinkable ship struck an iceberg and went down, taking with her more than 1,500 passengers.  For this story, we took a look at the life of just one artifact in the collection—a steel door, just six feet high. For its short life, the D-Deck Door acted as the gateway through which the ship’s first-class passengers entered the ship.

We paid a recent visit to the Titanic Artifact Exhibition at Atlantic Station, so that Alexandra Klingelhofer, the VP of Collections, could tell us all about it.
